1,500 Van Gogh Artworks Have Been Digitized and Put Online [Shared]
Few artists are as widely beloved as Vincent van Gogh. Although underappreciated during his lifetime, the large body of work he left behind has since enthralled art lovers everywhere. While the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam remains a top destination to see his work in person, there is now another way to experience the Dutch Post-Impressionist‘s masterpieces. The museum has digitized 1,500 paintings and drawings by Van Gogh and made them available online for anyone to view.

“The British Library holds the world’s largest surviving collection of Chaucer manuscripts, and this year we have reached a major milestone. Thanks to generous funding provided by The Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, the Peck Stacpoole Foundation, and the American Trust for the British Library, we have completed the digitisation of all of our pre-1600 manuscripts containing Chaucer’s works, over 60 collection items in total.”

This will ultimately be universally mandated and provided so workers' bodies never get tired or sick, with only our #brains remaining #organic.
Until #consciousnesses can be #digitized or otherwise replicated in a format that can transfer between #BioMachines.
That is the horrifying future we face in our #ForcedEvolution.

Thinking about the intersection between #digitaltheatre and #digitized #theatre, and whether one mutually excludes the other. Can a recorded show be both a digitized theatrical performance as well as a work of digital theatre? Or do they exist in completely separate worlds? I think digital theatre has the ability to bridge many gaps that "regular" theatre lacks, but I wonder if that "regular" theatre has the ability to build that bridge on its own.

For those of us tending #libraries of #digitized and born-digital #books, we know that they need constant #maintenance—reprocessing, reformatting, re-invigorating or they will not be readable or read.
Fortunately this is what libraries do (if they are not sued to stop it). Publishers try to introduce new ideas into the public sphere.
