Today I'm digitising "Story Box 3", an old children's Scripture Union story tape from 1990. My son loves the one I still had from childhood so I've hunted up another in the series. I had to buy a new cassette player though as my old one broke. This one is brand new and supports Bluetooth 😯

I’ve finally started #digitising my #analogue #film #archive. It’s a mammoth task, but one that has to be done. So, the process begins; cleaning the #negatives, #scanning, processing, and then cataloging and keywording. This will take a while! #photography #35mm

Much of my new #digipres mahi (job) is community and commercial liaison. In #digitising the #heritage of our district communities, there is much that has been collated which is officially "private" and/or "copyright" so there is a LOT of contacting various people and organisations to make sure we have their express permission to place certain images and articles in the online archive. Otherwise we can only preserve them digitally on the hard-drive storage. Today I contacted a large #NZ magazine!

I've put the Baldur's Gate #aquarelle under the #scanner last night; I think I actually like the results from photographing it with my phone better. The #Canon #MG2550S makes it look rather pale, and some of the brush strokes seem to stand out more?
It can probably be improved quite a bit in post-processing, but I was hoping for better results straight out of the box.
(I also need to do manual cropping, as it doesn't recognise the borders well enough...)
