Bei meiner ständigen Abwägung „Spaß am Computer“ oder „mehr Zeit für Kontakt zur Natur, Menschen und mich selbst“ hat das erste verloren. Den Spaß werd ich mir erhalten, aber an viel weniger Punkten. Das Digitale kann auch eine Entfremdungsmaschine sein.

Wer ist das? Ich bin 57 und damit eigentlich keiner. Aber meine Altersgruppe ist die, die diese Technologieentwicklung wirklich mitbekam. Wir sind die, die damit noch experimentiert haben und es als Neuland betreten haben.

When I look at #logfiles or #mailheaders, I often feel like being the young, "naturally born" #hacker (i.e. not having a "port") from the movie #TheMatrix, pointing to a screen where you can see green characters falling down and he's pointing to them saying "Look at that women in the red dress!"

BTW, that's what IMHO is a #DigitalNative, not those teenagers living on their smartphones but having no idea on whose computers their data is on. 🤓

Vielleicht sollten wir die Definition von “Digital Natives” überdenken. #DigitalNative zu sein ist nicht eine Frage des Alters, sondern vielmehr des frühzeitigen Zugangs zu Informationstechnologie. Es geht um die Erziehung, das autodidaktische Lernen und das spielerische Erkunden digitaler Geräte und Software von klein auf. Wer das nicht erlebt hat, ist auch kein "Digital Native"

I'm reading _Information: A Very Short Introduction_ (Floridi, 2010) and I'm struck by the precience just three years after the introduction of the #iPhone. (I got my first #smartphone, a #Palm Pre, in 2010.) Since the invention of digital #networks there have always been people who were very online, but they (we?) were #freaks and #geeks. Now, with #GenZ as the first really #digitalnative gen, we see that the prediction is dead on. The #cybersphere and the real world are inseperable for them.

Ein Freund von mir hat mir letztens erzählt, dass sie in der größeren sozialen Einrichtung, in der er arbeitet, mittlerweile Probleme mit neuen Auszubildenden haben, da diese zum ersten Mal mit dem Bedienkonzept Tastatur & Maus konfrontiert werden und kläglich scheitern. Das scheint die Einrichtung vor eine größere Herausforderung zu stellen.
