Reminder: Client Side Scanning is incredibly privacy invasive and highly ineffective at the stated purpose ("Protecting minors").
Client Side Scanning results in 1: A horrifyingly high number of false positives (irrelevant/in-actionable reports) and 2: Minors, the very people this tech is allegedly protecting, being legally punished en masse.
Again, mail/call your MEPs and such ASAP!

The "dirty deal" is basically "We promise that end-to-end encrypted communications will be exempt from mandatory scanning. Only public forum posts and such will have to be scanned. This totally won't be expanded upon in the future. Pinky promise!"
I hope that Parliament stands firm, negotiations fall through, and the can is kicked further down the road. However, I have a feeling that enough Parliament members will crack and CC 2.0 will be passed.
