My #TransGEM for last week was getting to be Olympia (instead of [deprecated-name]) for nearly the entire week while at an opera festival.
On Thursday night, for the first time ever, I looked down at myself and saw a woman.
Not the usual semi-dysphoric version of “not a man but also not a woman despite the feminine shapes and dress.”
I was _her_. Completely her.
It was but for a few fleeting moments during Act III of Die Walküre just before Brünnhilde’s entrance. I’m sure some of it was the music. And some of it was being at trough estrogen. But regardless of the source… I truly believed it with all my heart and soul. I wept quietly with joy.
I’ve lost her since then, but I caught a fleeting glimpse in my shadow this morning.
She’s still out there somewhere. I’ll keep pursuing her.
