Animal control must be sick of me, with how often they have to drive up here.

I could pick this birdy (unsure if thrush or blackbird) up with my bare hands, he was extremely skinny and as I was holding him he closed his eyes and his head dropped to the side. I thought he was a goner right there and then. But he was still kicking when they came to pick him up, so fingers crossed he makes it through the night.

The trap is set, I hope Tux takes the bait but I fully expect to have to release his mama from the trap first. She's already doing a preliminary inspection 😁

This morning my husband told me about a jackdaw in the backyard who didn't fly away when he got near. I thought that was strange because they're usually pretty skittish. But then I went into the garden and found out why. The poor little guy had an injured wing and could no longer fly.

I managed to capture him and brought him to a wildlife rescue center where he will be looked after and hopefully cured.
