In one of the earlier drafts of the SciFi/Catboy!AU, there was some plot where catboy!Doppio got trapped in some nanite armor Diavolo had discarded due to the AI (not like the AI we vilify in real life, but you know what I mean) malfunctioning heavily and Diavolo has to fight Doppio to get him out of said armor while the AI taunts Diavolo and Doppio is so scared bc he is being forced to fight Diavolo against his will.

I'm reworking it, but for now, I'm figuring out how it works.

Some headcanons I have for Diavolo and catboy!Doppio for that scifi!AU to distract from a lovely nightmare I just had:

> Diavolo is still a mafia leader, albeit he's managed to keep his identity hidden using computer viruses that scramble camera feeds and databases (hey, because you know how big brother is in the future) and has utilised armor based weaponry (mostly a gauntlet to punch the shit out of things) to take out anyone that tries to learn the truth about him. At some point, he wanted to partially roboticize himself to remove any weaknesses from himself/make himself stronger, but ultimately decided not to.

> Doppio is (at least in this AU) Diavolo's clone that Diavolo's men managed to find in a hidden milita lab somewhere (boy diavolo was pissed to find out they managed to get him cloned) and was during his development spliced with cat DNA to make him a cat-human hybrid- which the people in charge of the project responsible for his existance intended (that project is semi related to the plot) but also makes him feral and impulsive despite being way smarter than he lets on.

> After getting Doppio out of the lab, Diavolo decides to just take him in as payback for being cloned without consent (it's techically his DNA that was responsible, if partly, for Doppio's existance, after all) and soon finds he's gotten a bit more than he bargained for (constant invasion of space and getting half his food snatched while eating)

> Doppio sort of starts out mute and not really able the communicate aside from trilling or hissing but after a tediously long time, he can speak in full sentences; he would still make trilling noises or any other cat-like noises, however.

Thinking about how Diavolo would talk about catboy!Doppio if someone brought the subject up- except that the person asking thinks that Doppio is a straight up cat, saying things like, 'Doppio is... very discerning about what he eats' or 'Doppio woke up at 3 am, ran around the house screaming his head off until I let him sleep in the bedroom' or (if declawing is probably brought up)

"How dare you even suggest I mutilate my darling Doppio? We'll see how you handle missing the tips of your fingers and toes when I'm through with you..."

Remembered my old Hexed Day!AU (which I am thinking of reworking) where Doppio is a priest possessed by demon!Diavolo and essentially has to deal with not only having the latter rip out of his back, but also having to eat human flesh to keep himself alive (with a little side of drunk on the dark side to boot)

I am thinking about Doppio and Diavolo's cooking skills to distract myself from my pops being busy as hell and not texting me for like a week:

Doppio is pretty good as a cook, but is very busy and can't exactly cook a full meal all the time; helping his boss run a mafia sometimes doesn't give him time to do that, so ends up either forgetting to eat or eating meals that are pre prepared/straight up coffee half the time.

Diavolo has a bit more skill than his underboss, but if he can nab something quick to eat, he will do so. He also goes without food half the time, which. Does not help his paranoia. At all.

Slight bonus: imagining myself inserts cursing either them out and giving them a cooked meal because goddamnit you rose haired bastards you need you need to fucking eat you ain't starving yourselves on my watch-

While I haven't touched upon this AU in a hell of a while, the catalyst events sort of trailing back in Diavolo's childhood; basically a young Diavolo begins snooping around on an abandoned computer and nearly panics when the text types back to him (remember, these are old DOS computers with type inputs, not the clicky click icon puters and tablets and phones we have now! Y'know, MS DOS and IBM models!) and realises there is something trapped inside and he (falsely) promises to free it and show it the world (actually, upon it mentioning it might be an angel, he was gonna use it as a weapon of leverage against the church he was part of, as well as possibly sever any connections to his old home and fucking bail)

On the other side of the screen, Lucemon (after, well, years of the digital world equivalent of time trapped in the dark world) manages to contact a human on an old computer to free him and wreak absolute fucking havoc (and maybe keep the human as a source of plutonic companionship and entertainment- he did not get attached to the human you are making things up)

And then when both of them went for their respective plans, it went absolutely fucking tits up; Diavolo got stranded in the digital world and might be dead or secretly alive (maybe a secret third option) and Lucemon is still stuck in dark world until ???

(Listen, I'm still planning out the story of this AU, even after all this time bear with me here)

Roleswapped Monster Forest!AU plot I've been thinking about; a flood drives harpy!Doppio and siren!Diavolo from their cave and they're caught by the supernatural equivalent of a rehab/sanctuary. Doppio isn't too fond of the situation, but with their home lost, he tries to make the best of the situation.

Diavolo, on the other hand, is scared out of his wits and refuses to have anyone but Doppio come near him- at least until reader finds them both (reader works at said rehab/sanctuary) and manages to calm him down.

Swapped Monster Forest!AU idea: once siren!Diavolo is close enough to reader to the point where he's taking naps on their chest, he notices their bracelets and sometimes even hesitantly touch them because he hasn't really seen anything like them before; reader makes him one despite sirens or harpies not really being able to wear them, and he's so enchanted with this string of beads but also has the conumdrum of 'are we friends or mates now' because human and siren culture are two entirely different things.

harpy!Doppio is also intrigued by reader's bracelets and nearly swipes one for his own hoard but reader tells him "I'll make you one too, don't worry!" and he is???? Flattered but confused????

One of the things I am thinking about is harpy!Doppio scavenging food for both of them (not all of it meat but food nonetheless) and finding sour candy mixed in that he doesn't usually like, gives a little to siren!Diavolo reluctantly (because the poor bastard needs to eat) and the latter has a near transcendant experience from it.

(Also in the case he does befriend reader, he nearly begs them for sour candies and reader is??? confused??? birds and bird monsters don't usually eat candies???)

Swapping Doppio and Diavolo's roles and species in Monster Forest!AU for enrichment purposes is interesting, to say the least:

> This means siren!Diavolo not only gets the lovely experience of losing his flock and enduring survivor's guilt, but he had been blamed by the dying members for the whole thing and even before that was considered a bad omen because of his appearance (which would be based on a Dracula parrot/Pesquet's parrot) and even exiled prior to the incident (he went back to help but the entire flock still chased him off) and now has to deal with anxiety, suidical ideation, and feather pulling/starvation! Yay! (Note: this is actually not a yay situation in the slightest, the poor fucker is going through it to the point where he is near mute- which is. A BAD THING IN SIRENS.)

> Meanwhile, harpy!Doppio has just been a general menace to the humans he hunts- partially to be an ass, partially to blow off steam. Part of his hunting technique is just to mimic his prey and taunt his human victims (so yeah- hearing the voice of your dead friend through a feathery bastard mocking you is fucking terrifying) or just go after injured animals if there's no humans around (or raid campsites for food, he's not picky). He ends up finding a near dead Diavolo and stubbornly nurses the latter back to health (despite Diavolo wanting to die bc he thinks he deserves to for existing) and making sure he stays alive. (They do get together after Diavolo becomes more willing to open up, but it's an uphill battle)

> Bonus: Diavolo finding reader by accident (he hears them singing) and just... sorta slinks over to them. Reader's a bit startled to see this bird person monster trembling in nervousness and staring at them in awe before just- kinda bolting off. He does see them again the next day and the day after that and so on, sort of inching closer each time until he's all but asleep on their chest. Doppio, while confused, encourages this because Diavolo needs the company.

As much as a mental image of Diavolo at a nudist beach is, it is also not a thing he'd do because- y'know- he would not like being perceived, let alone naked.

Also, Doppio would (probably!) die of embarassment. Or maybe not. Plus if they both share a body, then they may have to deal with a sunburn if they stay out too long, if not dealing with sand.

Both demon!Doppio and demon!Diavolo have seperate ways of bonding with Reader:

> Doppio, being the one spending the most time around Reader, is more hands on and attentive; he's more willing to give reader enough affection with Diavolo doing his leadership duties. This also means that he's the first to take Reader's virginity (under Diavolo's suggestion, of course) and is more... intimately familiar with Reader's body than Diavolo is. He also helps with aftercare and keeping Reader grounded. He also indulges Reader's curiousities and is sugar sweet to them- which makes his possessiveness all the more surprising. He's also the one that help reader get used to their new body once they become a demon due to overwhelming corruption.

> Diavolo is... hesitant at first to touch Reader because he's secretly afraid of hurting them by accident, but as he allows himself to be more vulnerable around his 'betrothed', he keeps a gentle touch around them but also slowly gets them used to his own carnal urges over time. He usually gets Reader something to occupy his time or orders Doppio (read: actually asks him very nicely) to take Reader to places and keep a close eye on them so they don't try to escape, but makes more than up for it in private moments and lots of lavishing and attention. His possesiveness isn't outward, but rather through his words. Diavolo also tries to reassure reader they are still beautiful as a demon, even though at that point they could care less about how they look.

Some background of the Hellfire!AU (which is another AU with demons but as demon!Doppio and demon!Diavolo as villian protagonists) that will make some sense:

> Diavolo is the leader/king of what is known in hell as the Crimson Court and Doppio is his right hand man/'prophet'; whilst the territory is sizable by demon standards, Diavolo also does want to over take the human/earthly realm, even if it takes years to do so.

> The settlements surrounding the castle these two live in have an almost cultlike devotion to the entirety of the Crimson Court, up to elevating the two to near deity status (Diavolo is not thrilled about this, but does admit the worship does stroke his ego a little while Doppio has to 'occasionally' keep him in check)

> Diavolo- being, well, Diavolo- managed to convince his followers that looking at his bare visage is a extremely bad omen and even wears a full plate of dragon-eqse armor to sell the lie; the humans that haven't been turned wear blindfolds (not entirely pointless outside of that, as said blindfolds are enchanted to show those wearing them an idealized version of their reality than what is really there) and those higher in rank even voluntarily blind themselves by basically skewering their eyes out with specialized masks.

> Most of the guards and warriors that work for Diavolo are... exceptionally violent; some rivaling armies find most of their members mercilessly slaughtered and are driven to get the fuck out. (Body death is not a hamper for demons but like. Getting straight up decapitated because the demon in charge basically just said no quarter to enemies is not a fun ride)

> While Diavolo had basically lied about looking for a bride/groom/yes to the public, he's secretly married to Doppio. (their followers may be catching on, though. there's more than enough 'shipping art' that has been confinscated from followers to fill several books.)

As I'm trying to think of the actual fic, I have the sentiment reader does eventually lose their humanity from staying too long in Hell (that and getting fucked by two demons that they allowed to fuck them) but also has so much awareness about what's happened to them in a 'my humanity is gone but fuck human dick isn't going to come close with how good my strong demon husbands fuck me so worth it' sort of way

(throw in some causal playful jealousy and possessiveness between Doppio and Diavolo and heavy possessiveness regarding their beloved and you see what readee is dealing with.)

I'm wondering about how wedding dress/clothing shopping/tailoring would work for these three in this situation.

Diavolo wants something initricate, breathlessly beautiful to adorn his and Doppio's darling that others would envy them. (As well as something to cover him fully so that noone could see his visage during the actual ceremony with those requirements)

Doppio wants something that is beautiful, but also possible to repair because- let's face it, that shit's getting ripped off of reader the minute all three get to their honeymoon (following by marathon fucking the whole night) and intricate and delicate dresses are hard, if not impossible to fix.

Reader is patiently looking for an opportunity to leave when neither Diavolo or Doppio are not looking but has to play it cool when their lovers/captors are having them try out dress after dress bc well. Angering a demon is bad, let alone to that are trying to bolt them down with marriage. (Reader is also doubtful about dating a human bc those two have absolutely ruined the thought of sex with other humans because it's not going to cut it after fucking those two)

There's other stuff I want to write about, but. I have to get ready for work, so have this for now.

It's a bit weird to think about Monster Forest!AU, let alone the yandere reader fic rn especially since I'm dealing with monthly rent anxiety, but siren!Doppio and harpy!Diavolo being playfully possessive and competitive with each other over who is being more attentive/loving and fucking their shared darling (reader, natch) but also being severely possessive of any humans or harpies that get close to their shared darling- meanwhile, reader is so feral minded they are distrusting of anyone except Doppio and Diavolo. >:3c

I finished the current redesign for demon!Diavolo just a little while ago (which also carries over other AUs aside from Willing Corruption!AU); this form is Diavolo's natural form- while he can assume a human form, he rather prefers this form and has only shown it willingly to Doppio due to their long mutual bond and to better aid the latter in getting used to being a demon. (He hadn't really shown Doppio before things went awry with a ritual, but Doppio was... somewhat aware of Diavolo being not human- what being reasonably just shows up in the middle of the night after one prays night after night with no answer?)

The dark sheltered his form much better than the light filtering through the stained glass windows, the dark robe a comfortable weight around his body. His sympathetic devil helpfully guided him through the rituals, praising him and touching him gently- much more kinder than the other.

"I am very proud of you, my darling Doppio."

Those words lifted his heart than any answered prayer would; a gentle declaration of love and eternal devotion. ]
