    CW: Freshwater data 🐟🦐

    The Journal of #Limnology published a special issue on georeferenced #freshwater #biodiversity data. The first three #datapapers are now available— about #rotifers and #diatoms in Italy 🇮🇹 and #zooplankton, #macroinvertebrates and #fish in Uganda 🇺🇬. More papers to come!

    The special issue results from a collaboration between GBIF and the Journal of Limnology aimed at filling gaps in primary biodiversity data on freshwater species.

    CW: #Introduction

    As per bio, I am a micropaleontologist working from Berlin's MfN. I work primarily on siliceous microfossils (#Radiolaria #Diatoms) and their relationship with past climate and oceans (#Paleoceanography #Paleoclimatology). I am also a programmer (primarily #R #Python #SQL and a bit of #JuliaLang) and the current maintainer/developer of the Neptune DB (a DB of microfossil occurrences and #Stratigraphy).
