  17. I’m super excited by this one. I think, I _think_, this is Amphitetras antediluviana, a new-to-me species of diatom from Cromer. I ADORE their cubic form 🎁 (yes more geometry!)

  18. Can anyone shed any light on this little mystery? Too big to be the diatom Cylindrotheca closterium, my second guess is a dinoflagellate (perhaps Amphisolenia sp.?). What do you think? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  19. Twisty twisty! This colonial diatom Asterionellopsis glacialis is increasing in my samples. It has been known to bloom around here so it’ll be interesting to see how, when, and if that happens this year.

  20. This is the first time I’ve seen Thalassiosira eccentrica as a joined pair! Can you see the little thread between them joining them together? It’s the little things that get me excited!

  21. Can anyone help me with this mystery? I find lots of these short chains of diatoms in my samples. Is it a Chaetoceros sp. ? The examples always have these short setae. And if so, which one!!?? This is also my first attempt at stacking. 😬
