  3. #DianeAbbot #ukpol I will write at length on this subject in another place. I am aware this is multilayered. Race, ethnicity, colour, culture all feed into this. I have experienced overt discrimination here in Wales and in Sri Lanka (I'd gone native Tamil), and Poland,. Diane was my M.P. for a while and blanked me on more than one occasion. Never did get to the bottom of that one. We are all equal, celebrate our #diversity, please don't 'other' me. I'm just a bit different 🏳️‍🌈#racism #apartheid

  5. A lo of pompous, self-important, mutual admiration in flowery language as the new parliament opens

Now I understand why #edwardLeigh (the gammon of gammons) and #dianeAbbot were so keen to stand as pensioners.... they had leading parts in this pantomime....

  6. very interesting about the beginnings of #DianeAbbot's four decades as an MP. I missed that, have only been here for 31 years so as long as I remember she's always been in parliament ... theguardian.com/politics/2024/

  8. Bet if she was White the BBC would have framed it as "her ex-partner" to be less emotive.

A bit like how Diane Abbot drinking a mojito on the Tube was the downfall of the Kingdom.

  10. You may have been wondering what to make to #DianeAbbot's letter in last week's Observer & the whirlwind of commentary around its particular view of #racism... after a week, helpfully (and concisely) Kenan Malik offers an overview of how the debate over race has got to this point.

  11. Before any #tories decide to get on a high horse about #dianeabbot racism, they should remember they have #suellabraverman and other racists in their party and do nothing about them.

  13. @sabret00the

This discussion arises from #dianeAbbot claiming a hierarchy of injustice where white people of any type suffer less from racism

I don't claim disadvantage personally - I'm not a member of any minority that suffers racist prejudice. But in the context of her idiotic remarks to state "White people can experience..negatives..but the system overall is designed in their favour more than anyone else" without excepting the #Holocaust is remiss
