  1. Happy to share that our #dhnb2023 paper is now available. Many thanks to @dhnb and the University of Oslo Library for publishing the conference proceedings in this new Diamond OA journal.

Have a look at journals.uio.no/dhnbpub/articl if you want to know more about the PIA research project. #iiif #loud #linkedart #participatorydesign

  2. This year is the year of producing #ConferenceProceedings. I have been involved in 3 international conferences. For the biannual conference of the #NordicNetworkForTextualScholars #NNE nnedit.org/, I am currently supervising peer reviews and volume production. For #DHNB2023 we're awaiting final versions by the end of May. For #CLE2023, it hasn't yet been confirmed that we are producing proceedings, but a booklet will be available! I aim to publish everything #DiamondOpenAccess

  3. Max Frischknecht and I just gave our presentation on "Community & Interoperability at the Core of Sustaining Image Archives" at #dhnb2023 where we talked about #iiif #loud and participatory design - here are the slides: doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7690740 #pia_sinergia

  4. In terms of resources that defy easy solutions for preservation, I think of #Voyant. It's not even just that it's a widely used, very accessible, and beloved tool for teaching DH and publicly-engaged humanities. It's also, in some way, an embodiment of a beloved colleague who we lost too soon, and how he did DH. We've collectively written tributes, memorial lectures, put together awards, but it's more and different and harder work to try to keep Voyant alive. #DHNB2023

  5. Still, we're no closer to the dream of Project Bamboo for some kind of infrastructure that can bring together disparate collections with scalable algorithms, in a way that everyone gets credit. The closest thing I can think of is #HathiTrust -- and that only works within its own texts and ecosystems. Good luck combining that with things your university has subscribed to. (Also, it's not easy to use!) #DHNB2023

  6. My talk was on "(Re)Considering Digital Preservation 10 Years after Bamboo", the Mellon-funded #DigitalHumanities cyberinfrastructure planning project where I got my start. There's a lot to be happy about: the emergence of disciplinary repositories for the humanities like @hcommons.social CORE, the move towards #MinimalComputing, the tendency to think about DH projects as data that can be archived, not just pretty websites. (Yeah that's @miriamkp as a data superhero.) #DHNB2023

  7. Logging into #DHNB2023 at 6 AM for "Challenges of Long-Term Sustainability of DH Projects: The LAM (Libraries, Archives and Museums) Perspective" with Grace Bicho, Olga Holownia, Helena Byrne, and Pedro Gomes. Themes of this workshop: practices around long-tem #preservations of DH projects, identifying challenges, brainstorm shared solutions for project discoverability & access. #DigitalHumanities

  9. In Copenhagen during the #DHNB2023 conference? We have a networking event at the Copenhagen University Library, South Campus, on March 7, 10 to 12 CET, where you can meet fellow #DigitalHumanities folks and learn about #DigitalMethods in #ChineseStudies, #History, #EuropeanLanguages, and #RegionalStudies! Schedule and registration info on the DHNB website dhnb.eu/conferences/dhnb2023/w. The event is hosted by the KUB Datalab.
