ngech [ŋet͡ɕ] adj. : back, end, rear.

The location of the end is relative to the speaker. So the top of a live tree to a person on the ground is the "end" of the tree. The back of something can also be considered "the other side."

This #dhakhsh word really resonates with me. The thought crossed my mind that I could also translate this as "combat veteran," but I do not feel like it captures the meaning. I plan to get this tattooed as homage to my wife—a cancer survivor.

    PN.3SG during.ADPOS DEF.ART great-war wound PST be.PRS

In the script I tweaked the letter <e> in two ways:

First, I decided to try creating a ligature for consonants with a tail to the right, as seen in the very first glyph. Second, I removed the upward trailing tail as I had in the last post.

I then added a diacritic to indicate the diphthong [eɪ].

In this sentence, the verb nguzhdhrag is rather interesting. It would seem to be an over-complicated word for "to be, exist." But here it has a deep meaning of existence. In fact, it also can be translated as "to be alive." In this example, it gives the adjective a sense of near over-saturation.

Just came up with a new word and a possible new way to write the vowel [i], depicted as the hook at the end of the horizontal line. I previously assigned it as a simple dot to the right of the consonant. The horizontal line represents the lateral approximant (I'm not sure where the specific point of articulation is at the moment). I wrote it using the average pencil and tweaked the photo. This word is:

    𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐡 [ɢlit͡ɕ] 𝑛. • fire, flame

  22. @celrydoor @conlang

It's used to write the #Dhakhsh language. The proper name of the alphabet is called Ngezhtulk, which uses the first five consonants. I'm planning to make two journals, one using Ngezhtulk and the other using Dhadakha (the writing system for #Lortho).

  23. #conlang #dhakhsh @conlang

I realized I posted a while back the Dhakhsh alphabet, but it lacked the IPA representation for each letter. Enjoy!

  24. New #Dhakhsh word:

    I have two conlangs:

#Lortho [ˈloɾ.tʰo], an Indo-Iranian-inspired agglutinating language with #VSO word order and 10 grammatical cases. I created a LTR, horizontal #writingsystem that is used solely to write Lortho inspired by Tibetan, Devanagari, and Tengwar.

#Dhakhsh [ðæxɕ], a Germanic-inspired analytic language with #SOV word order. I created a vertical, top-to-bottom, RTL writing system used solely to write Dhakhsh inspired by Mongolian, Pahlavi, and Avestan.

  27. Here is a comparison between day one (broad nib) vs now (brush tip). They both say the same thing: #Ngezhtulk—the writing system for #Dhakhsh. The one on the right was a pure abjad, and the left is an alphabet. I wanted to show how even an invented writing system can evolve.
