  3. Laughing at myself as I frog v1 of the #DH2026 souvenir top because of an algorithmic glitch. Both at first and when I double checked several times, I misread *k2tog yo twice k2tog* as *k2tog yo twice* leading to a vast stitch increase every other round. Time to try again! #DHmakes #DHtries

  5. #DH2026 taught me all about cute mascot culture done effectively in Korea, and I gotta say, El Paso's attempt with Amigo Man is just not making the cut.

  11. #DHmakes feed is full of cool things from the recent #DH2026 conference & DH makes workshop (both of which I had to miss 😞 so grateful for the photos). tinyurl.com/dhmakesfeed to check it out!

  13. Just like that, the #DH2026 week is over! Whether online or on-site in South Korea, it was truly wonderful to see the DH community come together around so many different projects, ideas, and people. We're grateful for all the interest and thoughtful feedback on our contributions. 🙏
A heartfelt thank you to the organizers for pulling off this huge international endeavour with such care. Now it's time to fight our way back into the old sleep rhythm – travel safe, everyone, & see you next time! ✨

  23. The conference is at an end but the digital humanities skeets at #dh2026 are still up and have a lot to say about some fascinating research projects and share some neat insights into visitors' experiences of Daejeon! Neat to see so many conference skeets circulating on here!

  27. I had more scarves planned, but managed to break two needles on the knitting machine in an interesting new way, snapping them from the bottom rather than the top hook! So those ideas will have to wait until I can get home and do some repairs. #DHmakes #DH2026

  29. For Misun Yun, I ran with the slide that noted there were 40+ volunteers. So I highlighted 40 owls in green thread like the green volunteer shirts. #DHmakes #DH2026

  31. You can't machine knit during a session but embroidery is quiet! For Jae-Yon Lee, I did a sort of abstract version of the logo on some superhero fabric. There are 493 stitches, one for every paper presented at the conference. #DHmakes #DH2026

  33. For Isabelle Marthot-Santaniello, I took her papyrus data set and knit the continents the pieces are located in (sorting the data alphabetically by city). North America is red, Europe is purple, Asia is yellow. An in-person hand-off didn't work out but I'll mail it! #DHmakes #DH2026

  35. Yongsoo Kim was the editor of the first issue of the Korean Journal of DH where we published the historical writeup of #DHmakes so I made him a scarf of that whole issue, using word count (Korean is red, English is purple) and image count (yellow). #DH2026

  37. Mart's bar chart of the CER of his documents before and after his intervention (which sometimes made things worse) made for a lovely striped scarf! One row for every 10% CER, red is original, blue is "improved", black separating documents. #DHmakes #DH2026

  39. Roundup of #DH2026 conference #DHmakes creations! Starting with Jan Rybicki's Stylo PCA of 20 English novels. Machine knit then hand embroidered. Spatial reasoning is still a struggle for me so I'm extra proud of having figured out how to fold the linear scarf into X,Y coordinates.

  41. News from Daejeon, where #DH2026 is currently taking place and the official announcement has just been made: @adho.org has selected the University of Padua to host #DH2029!

A major achievement for the bid team and for the entire Italian DH community.
