@jsonsingh Don’t limit yourself to the above mentioned ones of our are interested in #DGGS - learn about actual DGGS and gridding concepts and not a handful of fancy technologies, look at OGC API DGGS, look at HEALPIX, DGGAL, GeoPlegma, DGGRID, ISO DGGS definitions

I am looking to learn more about #DGGS and use cases surrounding to it. If you think your #geospatial data could some #h3, #a5 or #s2 sprinkle on top, please reach out.

Discrete Global Grid Systems: Geospatial foundation models and the rise of Discrete Global Grid Systems (DGGS) are reshaping how we think about, and interact with, spatial data. In an episode of the @geomob podcast, @luis_de_sousa offers an overview of, and introduction to #DGGS-s

Great new paper in #BigEarthData on #DGGS practical application on #landuse mapping at #ManaakiWhenua #LandcareResearch New Zealand. While they used #H3 due to available tooling they described the generalisable methodology really well.

Dggrid | http://Anaconda.org You can now install #DGGRID on Apple Silicon/ osx-arm64 architecture. I also managed to update to the stable 8.1 version. DGGRID version 8.3 with exciting news features and indexing systems will land soon too #DGGS #geospatial #grid https://anaconda.org/conda-forge/dggrid

[the math is way over my head, hence the wiki page leak, but a good read nonetheless]
“HIGHLIGHTS:
• Hexagonal multi-structural elements enhance Earth's surface modeling precision.
• Integration of indexing and conversion rules improves geospatial data computation.
• DGGRID implementation shows increased precision in raster and vector data modeling.
• Addresses limitations in existing software for Earth observation data.
• Pioneering approach expands geospatial data processing applications…"
