this basic firewall has helped me heaps as a linux enjoyer, not just to polietly ignore cloudflarers and fashbookers, but also the goog-aligned, the amzoned and the microdaft, and other creepy crawlies.

setup is a bunch of bash commands

pls don't hate me but i've been very active protesting in the meatspace lately, which is part of the reason i've not been online. (its only half the reason tho, the other half is super embarassing and totally not worth mentioning, one other person on fedi knows :P )

In other news while processing eggshells for something i seem to have discovered that they are a secret ingreient in kfc bread mix which was kinda wild for me. it has to be crushed VERY finely tho...into like a powder.

also i'm trying to fix at least one problem a day, I fixed commands for launching programs so they open properly with respect to the antifascist firewall (#DFCA)

@nateb yeah this stuff takes years.... know ***EXACTLY*** what u mean. It's even easier said than done to "provide pictures", good to hear Pop is awesome, i'll take that on board.

it sounds like you have a good method for testing ur site ;) glad i brough up a few things that gelled...

@torproject might want to clarify but their port53 catching system can't be toggled w a user friendly gui, i think. in contrast, i don't know how #dns redirection works with private vpns, some are gui applications, right? or are we just talking about the browser config and not the whole os? putting up firewall rules on a site might be too advanced tho... the #DFCA system teaches iptables which can read well, but it lacks a gui setup and easy updates, last i checked requires running a shell script. i think they plan to fix that iirc.

You said to keep u updated on addons so i'll just tell u there ***IS*** a browser addon that only blocks cloudflare, called Block #Cloudflare MITM Attack. but it only does cf and iirc, i don't think it use ip addresses but the http header. if interested you can read the source code by changing the filename to a .zip and uncompressing.

By the way, we have been using DFCA #bigTechBlocker and found that a concerning number of #bigTech firms are running #I2P nodes. One is (very conspicuously) running both #Tor (non-bridging nodes) and I2P nodes.
