British architecture studios Nex and Donald Insall Associates renovated this neo-gothic Exeter College Library at the University of Oxford, originally constructed by George Gilbert Scott in 1857.

This is a beautiful building, but I cannot help but translate the term "transitioning area" into gentrification.

Stefano Boeri Architetti's plans for Museum of Technology in Xi'an.

The museum will have a winding, undulating form lined on one side with vertical metal slats and horizontal slats of glass fibre-reinforced concrete on the other. According to the studio, this design draws on the landscape of rivers and mountains, as well as "the ancient origins of the city of Xi'an".

"Taking a cue from traditional Indian courtyards and sand dunes simultaneously, the built space swirls from the ground level to a nine-metre height, creating a semi-sheltered open amphitheatre & allowing the roof to be accessible as a garden space,"

US architecture firm Inform Studio and Buro Happold designed a curved and stepped wood-covered pedestrian bridge to link two parks in Providence, Rhode Island.

To make this happen they removed the I-195 highway from downtown. The bridge was floated 12 miles into place.
