  1. Will be using dev.to to post some progress and insight updates to KoalaSync too I think.
First story is about the new feature of v2.2, the audio compressor helping with the constant fiddling of your volume controls to just watch a modern movie in peace without it constantly switching between too loud or too quiet.

Write in Notion → frontmatter aligned to RSS schema → deploy to Astro → Dev.to auto-imports → Mastodon + LinkedIn. The whole stack, the lessons, and the real numbers.

  9. @ghorwood Hi 👋
I asked #DEVto a while ago to provide the #Markdown link of the post source, so I could save it when I find interesting things like this post of yours (but this feature was never developed)

  10. Bài viết chia sẻ cách tích hợp Mermaid để vẽ sơ đồ trong blog đa nền tảng: Hatena Blog (JS tùy chỉnh), DEV.to (chuyển thành ảnh) và Next.js (render client). 13. I found myself caught between best practices for text readability (limited width) and the need for code snippets to breathe. Turns out there's a neat CSS solution!

Just published my approach to let code blocks break free from container constraints while keeping your prose perfectly readable.

What I also found amazing, is that the system wants money for me to create stories

I never want to make Twitter stories

Yet it was shoved in my face like an order of food which you never did in a restaurant

  16. There was a time when I published stuff on dev.to as you can see at the link here
It was a time when Twitter was still normal and I used my one of my Twitter accounts to get into dev.to

    Time has changed a lot.
I just came in from a dev.to login. I wanted to see how bad it was now on Twitter.

The user interface has become foreign The icons don't tell you a lot about what happens there.

Strange posts are on your feed. Subjects you would never interact with. Everything is dark gloomy, frightening just like a scene in a Stephen King novel.

However Stephen King makes Beautiful Stories. Twitter is just horror for being horrific. I closed the tab fast. I went back to dev.to so I could check out the articles I've written there many years ago.

Twitter is now worse than you think stay away is my advice

  22. @wjmaggos
Eh, they don't really play nice with each other on a protocol level. Also different tools for different things.
Reddit vs Twitter in my mind. Great that they both can federate tho among themselves.

I just wish there were better options for Fedi blogs then WordPress. Eh, I wish #hashnode or #devto would add that to them.

  23. @kjhealy My favourite time is when I search for the stack trace, find detailed explanation on #DevTo of why is that and how to fix it and the solution actually works. And then I notice it's my own post that I just forget about 🫥

  24. Just made a #devto account and trying out writing some blogs over there.

First off (another) intro to Elasticsearch + Python: dev.to/iuliaferoli/getting-sta

Still experimenting with different hosting options for articles/guides - what has the best reach or findability for devs vs easy to maintain vs personal branding, etc...

There are way too many options out there 🥴

  25. I dedicated some time to work on the #Medup project recently. I'm excited to announce the release of a new version, v0.8.2. This update primarily includes minor fixes to ensure compatibility with the latest changes in the responses from #Medium and #DevTo platforms. 26. I'm afraid #Twitter is over. It was a great town square back in the day. Today it is not. I'll continue cross-posting from #LinkedIn and #Mastodon, but as soon as they break the API again, I'll suddenly and irrevocably stop. In anticipation of the inevitable, I've decided to stop @mentioning Twitter handles in my posts. I'll gladly @mention you from LinkedIn, Mastodon, #GitHub, #Devto, #Medium, and others. #MourningTheLoss #DontKillTheMessenger

  30. Nice #devto article about how to mock with node:test. The official documentation is not too detailed about this:

  31. CW: Self promotion 🤓

I wrote a thing about learning languages and new skills in tech (and how the two overlap). Feel free to give it a read (and show some support) on either Medium^1 or dev.to^2 whichever platform you prefer 😊 Thank you

  32. Figured this out! My solution was to use a combo of #vim keybindings in the #tmux config and then switch to tmux scroll mode with `v` and `y` to select and grab the text. Got a full write up on #devto dev.to/cseeman/how-to-copy-tex

  33. Can someone please add a comment on any of my #DevTo articles please? I suspect either some of my spam filters is eating their emails (likely) or it's funky from their side (not very likely). Merci 🙇
