Today's #Deskbot is at the kind request of @KontributeGaming, and honestly I'm glad they did; these are fabulous wee toys and honestly any excuse to have them still out where I can appreciate them. 😊 From left to right (image #1): Swindle, Blast Off, Onslaught, Vortex and Brawl.

Today's #deskbot (almost too big for the desk!) is the mighty BRUTICUS, the total Icon of Combat!
This guy was a *long* time coming, Vortex (grey helicopter) and Onslaught (main body) both quite pricey on eBay now, and Vortex particularly in demand.
But he's here now. Let the carnage begin!

Now, a fascinating piece of trivia here is looking at the early development of what became Transformers. This concept art has been unearthed for a character called "Muffy" (short for Muffler). That robot mode looks VERY close to what was released as Bug Bite, doesn't it? Meaning it's possible the design changed hands early on, and possibly Marvel *rejected* this mold in favour of the micro-change toy that would become Bumblebee.

Since these Halcyon days Volkswagen became very particular about licensing out their vehicle designs to companies who made, in their words, "War Toys". Can't think why a German company would be so squeamish...

Like this guy! Bug Bite!
One of the "super" Gobots from the OG toyline, larger figures with more detail than the regular line, he's one of my all-time favourites. Not only for his resemblance to iconic Transformer, Bumblebee, but for his unashamedly retro look: the pincer hands, the blank windscreen face...it's so gloriously 1970s design ethos it makes me weep joyous human tears.

Today's #DeskBot is a big boy — #Jinbao Freeze Devil Cryotek!
I admire so much of what went in to #Legacy Dragon Megatron, but I picked this fella up a few years ago and it looks so damn good. And it's Cryotek, which tickles my RiD-brain. Bit fiddly to transform, and the plastic quality isn't as good as more recent figures, but I absolutely adore the look.
