About those door handles: apparently Elon Musk likes the sleek look of retracted door handles, and that's why this problem exists. As for the people dying because of his stylistic preferences, well, they're just part of the experiment:
"The world is his lab. Everyone else is part of the experiment."

So all survivors are left with is knowing that their loved one died because the car sped up without any warning, or its emergency brakes activated without warning, or the car crashed and its occupants burned to death because the retractable door handles wouldn't permit emergency workers to open the doors and get them out of the cars.

What light through yonder window breaks (my optical mouse)?
A certain spot on my desk gets sunlight that confuses my optical mouse and makes navigation of my screen virtually* impossible.
Took me forever to figure out it wasn't a battery issue.
* I love a good pun.
