  1. @joewynne

Lets start large de-desert-ification tests and projects which needs many many new words.

If we covered the Sahara in forests it would go a long way to taking out EXXON's CO2 from the atmosphere and reducing that driver to climate collapse.

  3. Yellow dune (Deserts 🏜️)

Yellow dunes are sand dunes that develop after the first set of embryo dunes appear. They have an average depth of about 5m and are composed primarily of sand. They are so named because their lack of humus gives them a yellow color. The percentage of exposed sand on these dunes is generally about 20%. The remaining 80% is covered with vegetation that cannot withstand the conditions on the embryo ...

  9. Desert exploration (Deserts 🏜️)

Desert exploration is the deliberate and scientific exploration of deserts, the arid regions of the earth. It is only incidentally concerned with the culture and livelihood of native desert dwellers. People have struggled to live in deserts and the surrounding semi-arid lands for millennia. Nomads have moved their flocks and herds to wherever grazing is available, and o...

  11. The #geologists who claim that the Sahara was formed over a million years ago are simply ignorant. There are hundreds of wall carvings inside the desert showing human hunting and agricultural activities before the Sahara turned into a desert.

There are also a lot of deep rain water marks on the surface of some well known pyramids clearly indicating that there was heavy rainfall even after the pyramids were built.

What about the Atacama Desert? Check the Google map of the region! #deserts

  12. Evolution of deserts (Deserts 🏜️)

A desert is a landscape where little precipitation occurs and, consequently, living conditions create unique biomes and ecosystems. The lack of vegetation exposes the unprotected surface of the ground to denudation. About one-third of the land surface of the Earth is arid or semi-arid. This includes much of the polar regions, where little precipitatio...

Même si on […]

  23. #GreatGreenWall 2.0: #China is #geoengineering #deserts with blue-green #algae
These specially selected strains of #cyanobacteria can survive extreme heat and drought for long periods, according to China Science Daily on Thursday. When rain finally comes, they spring to life, spreading rapidly and forming a tough, biomass-rich crust over the sand. This living layer stabilises the dunes and creates the perfect foundation for future plant growth.

  25. Hype for the Future 71E: More on Australian Population Density

Introduction While much of the eastern Australian coast maintains a stable population base and higher density than the interior of the nation and continent, select regions just slightly further inland are effectively at more of a suburban density, specifically because of the climatological differences between the immediate coastal areas and interior regions. Desert Nation Australia is predominantly a desert nation, not by population, but by area. The vast majority of the nation is at least […]
