  1. @led02 The extended paper has now been through peer review and published in a special issue of ECEASST that collects outputs from :

We describe the workflow and architecture, an example of creating a plugin, how to use HERMES, and report three informal evaluatory case studies.

  4. New preprint: "Extending and Applying Automated HERMES Workflows" by Sophie Kernchen, @led02, me, Michael Fritzsche and colleagues.

    arxiv.org/abs/2410.17614

Came out of a workshop and was really fun, especially as one of the co-authors is an intern from a local high school 🏫 who extended the 'hermes' Python package with a plugin to harvest metadata from Python manifests.

It took him ≪ fortnight. 🤯

    I wish I was this talented. 🙌

  9. While #deRSE24 is not completely over yet, the closing session will be at noon in HS1. Afterwards there is still lunch as well as some workshops, meet ups and demos.

  17. Overwhelmed by an out-of-date software stack in need of revision in #digitalhumanities? Come see a possible strategy to get out of the mess in **"Accessible Multimodal Editions: Rewriting the Cultural Heritage Framework for the Age of (Digital) Ecosystems"** during the "RSE in Digital Humanities" session at #derse24 on **Wednesday morning, 10:30 am**, room HS5.

  18. Research can be really hard. For example, after a delightful evening in the wine cellar at the Würzburger Residenz. #derse24

  19. Welcome to the social event of #derse24 at Residenzkeller in Würzburg!

  23. @de_rse Last but not least on March 7, 11h in HS3 Adrian Sturm and Stefan Hynek will talk about how #legacysoftware infrastructure can be integrated into #Kubernetes : events.hifis.net/event/994/con #deRSE24

  24. @de_rse In the afternoon of March 6 Michelle Weidling, @goebel_m & @PaulPestov will present our #textviewer TIDO and the connected #TextAPI. See their talk at 14:30h in HS5: events.hifis.net/event/994/con #deRSE24

  25. #derse24 is now officially starting now in Würzburg in HS1. 😃

  26. #derse24 is up and running! The first workshops are already under way. We are looking forward to meeting you!

  27. Three observations at a pre-conference (#deRSE24) workshop in Germany:

    1. It's very nice for me that this meeting in Germany with 90%+ German attendees is in English.

    2. There are far fewer Macs vs PCs (perhaps running Linux?) than there would be at a similar meeting in the US.

    3. It's nice that there is coffee, juice, and coke to drink, even in the morning. Too many US meetings only provide coke in the afternoon, if at all.

  28. Excited to be in Würzburg for #deRSE24 🤩

All my shirts are ready, too...

    Come meet me

    - at our workshop on FAIR and Reproducible Code (Mar 5, 9:30 AM)
    - after my talk on Improving research through training - the Digital Research Academy
    (Mar 6, 2:20 PM)
    - or anywhere else where I hop around during this fun week about research software

  29. It's the week of #deRSE24 and I'm simultaneously

    - sad that I won't be there;
    - glad for the (virtual) extra time to work on my thesis.

Travel safely, have fun, get back 🚄, and see you next year at #deRSE25!
