for instance, regarding the gradually forming AI usage practices/habits, and seeing this piece in the news, I think we could only benefit from touching base with unions of various kinds. See if we have something to offer that they are interested in (teaching, models, ways of criticizing AI), what direction they would like us to go into, what they would like us to investigate and reasearch, and what to argue for or substantiate with scholarly findings and experiences.

And in the end, it is also us - at least with our RSE hats on, but maybe it even holds for the organisation of academic research as a whole - and our working conditions, tasks and pressures, who are talked about and disposed of in these developments who may be urged to become "reverse centaurs"...

Save the date: The #derse24 will be held at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg during the week of March 4th to March 8th, 2024. The main conference is scheduled to run from midday Tuesday, March 5th, to midday Thursday, March 7th, leaving time for additional RSE-related events and meetings before and after. I am part of the program committee. This is very exciting for me, and we'll do a lot to ensure that this will also be exciting for you. #rse #derse

Last week, I was part of the founding of a Special Interest Group within the #GI (Gesellschaft für Informatik, Society for Computer Science). Through various coincidences, I had the opportunity to present the #NFDIxCS initiative and witness the process of its establishment. Official statements will follow, which will also introduce the substantive topics. #deRSE @DLR

Hi, I'm pursuing a Phd (CS, Software Engineering) at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) & Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. I'm also a #ResearchSoftwareEngineer (RSE) in linguistics.
💻 My research is on #SoftwareEngineering, #ResearchSoftwareSustainability and #SoftwareCitation.
I also teach computational basics to researchers (#SoftwareCarpentry), promote RSE (#deRSE) and am a Special Collaborator of the #SoftwareSustainabilityInstitute (SSI).
I'm based in Berlin, Germany.
