  1. 💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: ☀️🧴 A #JAMA #Dermatology meta-analysis pooled 17 studies covering more than 321,000 people and found that a history of painful, blistering sunburns raised the odds of squamous cell carcinoma by 51% to 69%, with severe #childhood burns linked to up to three times the risk.

Researchers caution that the evidence is uncertain because it relies on people recalling past burns. The study reinforces #sun protection such as Slip, Slop, Slap for #kids and #teens.

  4. I've been struggling with eczema on my hands for a few years. Showering always aggravates my hands, even with cool water (I guess maybe it's the shampoos and soaps?). I discovered the existence of water tight shower gloves. I've been using them for a few weeks. They've been a godsend, and I highly recommend trying them if you have similar problems with your hands. #eczema #skin #dermatology #health

  6. I have spent nearly 50 years saying “Fuck you” to a culture that told me I should cover my pigmentation disorder with makeup, stay pale so it doesn’t show, or bleach the rest of my skin to match.

But I won’t deny I was pleased to see it slowly repigmenting, and watching myself bloom white over the last two months has been pretty horrible.
