Okay, this is not the form for this, but I don't think there is a good one since I don't have a #dermatologist on tap. How do you tell the difference between some kind of #allergy triggered rash, #Eczema, and allergy-triggered eczema, when it's under your hair? I don't think I'm suddenly allergic to my hair stuff after months of using the same things. It's something else, but how do I figure it out without a whole referral to a #dermatologist thing? 50-50, they just say, "oh, you're allergic to something" and then you have a couple thousand dollars on your bill. 😭

For #SkinCare experts, especially #Dermatologist and MDs: how can I keep my hair from becoming oily and skin from breaking out when wearing over the wear #headphones ? I have some nice Sonys with pleather cushions that I never wear, because they turn the area around my ear into an oil field.

I used to wash twice a day, properly moisturize, blot my #skin all day, and clean them daily, but none of that helps, especially for the oily #hair part. Any advice so I can use them again?

Can't you be screened by any #oncologist for #melanoma or can you only be seen by a #dermatologist for that? 🤔

@gwensnyder Until recently, I rarely thought about sunblock. That changed when the #dermatologist discovered a basal cell #carcinoma (BCC) on my nose. It took hours of surgery and testing and was quite an ordeal. The surgeon followed a careful procedure to minimize the disfiguring excisions (Moh’s). The BCC was about 8mm in diameter. My nose looked like Stickney Crater on Phobos. More hours of “plastic” surgery followed to reconstruct my nose.

All because I didn’t use sunblock.

At the #dermatologist for my annual scalpel-based weight reduction treatment! 🔪😏 Wish me luck!

This is my #dog Connor. He has an #autoimmune disease called #Pemphigus. His immune system is attacking his skin and he gets scabs and blisters. His #dermatologist is amazing, she put him on #Tacrolimus Ointment which is helping him so much. He has more hair now than he has had in almost two years. And we've been able to cut his medication in half. He was on a high dose of #methylprednisolone it was a wonder he didn't become diabetic. He is a happy boy! #DanishSwedishFarmdog #DogsOfMastodon

I just received this book, "Facial Diagnosis of Cell Salt Deficiencies," as a holiday gift.

I can't find out much about the author except that he has a degree in psychology and has appointed himself an expert on #homeopathy.

To me this looks like the work of a scammer or of a true believing magical thinker.

But what do I know? I'm not a #dermatologist, a #CellBiologist, or a #nutritionist.

Which of these should I ask to vet this questionable tome?

I’m so #itchy from my #eczema 😩 I’m flaring and partly blaming switching health insurances and the delay getting my #Humira approved thanks to my insurance dragging its feet. Thankfully I’m supppsed to get my #Humira #meds next Tuesday and I see my #dermatologist the following week. Until then I may just astral project 😩

Hi all, I am finishing up a postdoc at Stanford focusing on #AI for healthcare, with interests in fairness, explainability, and deployment. Previous to this, my PhD was in genetics with a particular focus on genomics and pharmacogenomics in understudied populations.
