Late to the party but I've just finished Dept Q.

Absolutely bonkers as a police procedural, but it scored highly in many aspects. The familiar locales (although I shouted at the screen in the first episode when they took an impossible route to the Royal Mile), the sheer misanthropy of Carl, the very crude but actually funny humour.

Will definitely be watching series 2.

Finished Dept. Q (Netflix). Excellent. Dark, funny, suspenseful. It isn’t Slow Horses, but it’s not a million miles away from it. Matthew Goode carries it perfectly, looking forward to seeing more from him, plus strong supporting cast.

And everything is there, set up for further series hopefully.

I had to create a running list of who’s who because I’m not good at remembering names, and it’s a bit violent, but the characters are flawed and awesome. It’s on Netflix.

Si hay alguien especialista en hacer drama sarcástico son definitivamente las producciones británicas. El tono general de “no me vengas con tus neuras que problemas tenemos todos” queda genial y divertido. Me ha gustado también ver a Matthew Goode hacer del antítesis del galán y sacar su lado más mordaz.
Por contra la serie se enreda demasiado en minutos que no aportan nada, la producción es muy básica (como casi todo lo que hace Netflix), y pretende crear efecto con juegos de personajes que en la mayoría de casos no funcionan.

nach dem Buch "Erbramen" von Jussi Adler-Olsen. Ich hatte das Buch vor ~ 15 Jahren gelesen. Jetzt erinnerte ich mich wieder, dass es den unglaublichsten Epilog hatte, den ich jemals gelesen hatte und der seither durch nichts getoppt wurde. Ich finde das kommt in der Serie in seiner ganzen Unfassbarkeit nicht rüber.

Started #DeptQ Enjoying it, but have to say, the least interesting thing about it is the main character. IMHO I think we’ve seen more than enough of the misanthropic, yet brilliant, tortured man who is hard to be around, even if the angle of his having PTSD is a little differentiating. Other perspectives than difficult CIS Het men are more interesting to me now,we’ve had this thoroughly explored with Dr. Gregory House & Sherlock after all.
