One cause of #financialcrisis, as you will recall from history, is when #depositors decide to remove their money from #banks... again, as you will know, due to low capital adequacy ratios, banks don't hold enough cash to satisfy (immediately) even a smallish proportion of those wanting their savings back.... leading in extreme cases to a bank run.
So, when we see deposits in both the #Eurozone & the US turn negative (in aggregate), we might pause to wonder whether we have avoided a crisis?

let me be clear that during the financial crisis, there were #investors and #owners of systemic large banks that were #bailed #out, and we're certainly not looking. And the reforms that have been put in place means that we're not going to do that again. But we are concerned about #depositors and are focused on trying to meet their needs.
