Got to see the Susan #Wick exhibit, a local Denver artist, and the most extraordinary traveling exhibit Kent Monkman’s History is Painted by the Victors at the #DenverArtMuseum If you have a chance to see it near you, make the effort! He’s from the #Cree tribe, and his paintings disrupt the narrative of what North Americans are taught about the conquest of the indigenous, and the repression of #TwoSpirit culture. And it is unbelievably beautiful.   3. Shame on the Denver Art Museum!! According to Harold Jacobs, the Tlingit and Haida’s cultural resource specialist who attended meetings in Denver in 2017, the museum was “probably the worst” institution they had ever dealt with regarding repatriation of plundered Native artifacts.
