Lately there’s been a lot of discussion about chat control. Here’s what I believe: it doesn’t matter who is in power—every government will want to control and preserve its authority, even in a democratic country. Labels like “right-wing extremist” or “left-wing extremist” can easily be applied, and people can be prosecuted if it serves the purpose.

@EUCommission It‘s a pity to see politics undermined by rightwing disinfomants, surveillance laws on the rise, national governments (e.g. Germany) openly defying European Law while at the same time sabotaging Citizen participation and the according organisations.
#DemocracyDay is nice. Acting Democracies defending their values and living up to the idea of that day, all the time, would be better. Alas, it‘s currently only wishful thinking, the money flows differently. -
