After a lawsuit detailing allegations of sexual assault within the #NMSU basketball team went public Wednesday, it is reasonable to ask whether we should keep referring to this as #hazing rather than using words like trauma, sadism or assault.

A task force created by the Minnesota legislature recently found that charges of aiding and abetting felony murder disproportionately targeted Black and Brown defendants, as well as younger people: 63 percent of them under the age of 25 and 9 percent under 18."

The New Mexico Legislature is aiming to chip off a little more of our public records law. Here’s an editorial using local reporting as an example of why it’s a trash idea, and rubbishing the specious argument used to justify the proposal.
The bill would shield all but finalists for executive gov jobs from disclosure, creating cover for bad selection practices and suppressing valuable news reporting.
