Non mi aspettavo granché visti i precedenti pessimi di #DelToro, ma qui penso abbia toccato l'apice della sua nullità come cineasta, tra l'altro infangando uno dei capisaldi della letteratua gotica e grande classico dell'horror (e del fantastico) come l'opera visionaria e attualissima di #MaryShelley

Guillermo Del Toro's #Frankenstein is great. As usual, a feast for the eyes. But also a feast for the mind. Issacs does a great job as the obsessed and flawed Victor. And Elordi is fascinating as the creature. They each share half of the movie, with a framing device from the book that I love.

And this is a wonderful mix of the book and 1930s movies. And from that mixture, becomes much it's own creation.

Yesterday I "played hooky"*, invented an errand to run and went to the movies in the middle of the day... I guess if one comes back to do the work that i would have done is not really skipping one responsibilities.. but it was just easier to go see #Frankenstein by #DelToro in the middle of the day in a almost empty theatre with ... and this is not common, me being not the oldest in the theatre...

*is that something people say in Canada? since I never went to school here up north.. I have no idea

So, I dont know how I missed this. But Del Toro's Frankenstein is in some theatres in NorAm. And prob for not very long. Check local times if you want to see it on the big screen.

And considering the detail Guillermo usually puts in his work, might be a good idea.

Also good to show Netflix there is value in cinema showings.
