  9. On deliberative democracy:

Miguel Egler - "Can We Talk It Out?"
    cambridge.org/core/journals/ep

Abstract: I argue that the most prominent epistemic defences of #deliberative #democracy fail. Relying on empirical findings on the workings of implicit bias, I show that they overstate the epistemic virtues of political deliberation. I also argue that findings in cognitive and social psychology can aid in the development of a new and improved generation of epistemic arguments for deliberative democracy.

  13. Highly recommend this recording of today’s #NatCen & #KingsCollegeLondon seminar on making #deliberative #democracy part of everyone’s lives. To paraphrase @OliverEscobar

#Deliberation is a way of communicating as old as humanity, it’s not a #Eurocentric story

    And Claudia Chwalisz from #DemocracyNext

Taking part in deliberative processes can have a transformative effect on people, it can ignite their sense of #agency

  17. Am I the first one here to use the #EUARENAS hashtag? If so, I believe this is a good #introduction to some of my recent work. At www.euarenas.eu you can find several documents and links to publications from the #H2020 project on #deliberative and #participatory democracy in urban spaces! I especially recommend Deliverables D1.1 and D1.2 - Conceptual Framework and State of #Democracy Debate - on which I have worked with my team at SWPS University.

  19. Introduction:

Hi, I’m a political science postdoc researcher at the Computational Social Science Lab @Uni_Stuttgart

My roots are research on attitudes, #participation, and #voting behavior. My dissertation on participatory and #deliberative #democracy on local level brought me to python, webscraping and machine learning. #AI

I consider causal reasoning to be the most important part of statistical modeling. #DAG #DGP

What else to say? I love teaching #rstats the #baseR way!
