Earthquakes in the area that I am from, between #Groningen and #Delfzijl. We had a view of a gas flare from our living room.
The gas company explained that there would be no sudden collapses of voids, that the sandstone would compress slowly and evenly, not by #earthquakes. Just build higher dikes, increase capacity of pumps.
Now walls are cracking, houses become unsafe. A cousin of mine in #Loppersum had her home condemned. Here is some good reporting on the BBC: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61901033
