Doing everything I can to avoid tracking (continuous & up hill battle that).

One important tip for folks in general (you may already be doing this)...

👉 Don't use apps when the web will suffice! 👈

Apps allow much more thorough penetration of your phone data, location, camera, etc.

(This assumes well-made websites with https: #SSL turned 'on' of course!)

The corollary tip is to find out how to 👉delete all the cookie/web-related data👈 on your phone and do it frequently. I usually do this more than once a day. You could make it a "first thing in the morning" thing like brushing your teeth. Actually there's a lot of similarity between purging tracking data and dental hygiene!

After all the lies (lookin' at you #FaceBook/#Meta!) I do not trust ANY declaration of "your data is safe with us". It ain't!

I have a "Distrust & Verify" stance for the sites/apps I actually use.

It's the world we live in... 😞

My wife is looking to join the Fediverse having finally quit X and is in the process of burning Facebacon.

Can someone recommend a good instance for a socialist activist with an interest in stopping privatisation in the UK, especially the NHS.

I'd set her up here but think it's better she's more involved with an activist community from the get go. If she gets a good vibe she'll likely be able to port a whole bunch of friends over.

Anyway, I submitted an account deletion request via #PermissionSlip. The request has been ignored thus far. Shocker.
