L'influence d'un certain peintre a encore franchi un cap puisque non content de la déformation fameuse des formes humaines, j'ai pris un sujet similaire qu'il a traité de façon obsessionnelle, en l'occurrence le portrait d'un pape (mais pas Vélasquez), ici celui de Paul III (huile sur toile peinte par Titien vers 1543).

Peinture inspirée d'un photogramme du film de Dreyer (Jour de colère, 1943) modifié par l'I.A.). Ce doigt pointé (redondant dans mon travail) est un motif qui peut montrer mais aussi dénoncer (il faut dire que je suis né coupable, sentiment certainement inculqué par l'environnement judéo-chrétien de mon enfance).

Nous évoquons régulièrement l’inflation (ou gonflement) d’édifices volcaniques. Ces mouvements de la surface traduisent des processus en profondeur, en particulier une augmentation de la pression dans un réservoir magmatique – ce qui ne présage pas forcément d’une éruption prochaine. La surveillance volcanique montre parfois le phénomène inverse. C’est le cas de deux volcans du massif du Tibesti (Tchad), où les données d’interférométrie radar capturées par le satellite européen Sentinel-1 mettent en évidence une déflation (ou subsidence). Au Tarso Toussidé, le sol s’est affaissé de 2,2 mm par an sur la période considérée (2017–2021). Au Tarso Voon le mouvement est plus marqué : 8,5 mm/an. Il est aussi légèrement excentré, non pas à l’aplomb de la caldeira mais au nord-ouest, sous le vaste champ hydrothermal Soborom. Dans les deux cas, cette subsidence est interprétée comme résultant de la contraction thermique d’une source magmatique, localisée à 7,6 et 5 kilomètres de profondeur, respectivement. Autrement dit, il reste du magma sous ces volcans, mais il serait plutôt en train de refroidir et de cristalliser. Une inflation détectée dans le Trou au Natron, au sud-est du Toussidé, serait quant à elle un signal parasite généré par les variations d’humidité dans les dépôts salins qui tapissent le cratère, et non la conséquence d’une activité magmatique. Même s’ils n’ont aucune éruption historique connue, quatre volcans du Tibesti sont considérés comme actifs au cours de l’Holocène.
