  3. Centralized power generation being distributed over a large area is no longer smart, was never sustainable, and is now a big problem for expanding communities.

But profiteers don't' make money off local energy distributed locally via mesh networks of rooftop and small solar, residential wind, and other sustainable sources.

Their greed is limiting our options.

  5. "There is the question of whether a U.S. secretary of transportation who is a former Fox Business television host is going to be able bring transformational change to the U.S. air transport system...[and] The air traffic control system is not the only infrastructure system at risk. The American electrical grid may be subject to “‘elevated’ risk of blackouts this summer.”

  7. Remember recently I mentioned that back in the Oil Drum forum days, we talked about how outlying and eventually suburban county roads would be turned back to gravel, due to inability to cover costs of paving?

Roads are not the only local & regional infrastructure with that problem - not enough tax base or franchise fees or whatever to maintain projects currently funded with grants or special allocations.

"America’s bridges, a quarter of which were built before 1960, were already in need of repair. But now, extreme heat and increased flooding linked to climate change are accelerating the disintegration of the nation’s bridges, engineers say, essentially causing them to age prematurely.

The result is a quiet but growing threat to the safe movement of people and goods around the country, and another example of how climate change is reshaping daily life in ways Americans may not realize."
