Im Ernst @CHIP_online? Auf so billige Weise versucht ihr also regelmäßig die Trends lokaler Instanzen zu erobern. So funktioniert #Fediverse nicht.

Aber irgendwie scheinen sie den Explore-Algorithmus mit sowas schon hacken zu können. Wie geht man damit um, wenn das mehr Schule macht? flipboard.com deföderieren, wenn die nichts dagegen machen? Würde mich mal interessieren.

This instance/service is violation enough to the point that I think that "the instance" deserves wide defederation, not just me putting a personal block on it.

And fedizens should not have to take personal blocking action because some arsehole thinks "I'll create a billion bots to boost tags and people have to opt out of it to avoid me doing so for their content" is somehow good fediverse behaviour.

#Meta has somehow managed to associate this with my #Facebook account. I know this because all of a sudden I am getting bombarded for something very specific that has only ever been discussed publicly on #Mastodon, and the ads started appearing just days later. I presume it was through #Threads, and some heuristics. It pisses me off no end. For fuck sake, admins, sandbox Threads. Isolate it. #Defederate. Give #Meta the middle finger.

The server I use has already defederated from mastodon.cloud. I think I lost a couple of followers as a result.

You should think about migrating away.  There's a growing discussion that some servers are going to defederate (disconnect) from the server. This means that servers will not process any posts from mastodon.cloud.

Why? mastodon.cloud is not maintained. The server software is very outdated and contains security vulnerability. Also, there is no active moderation, resulting in abusive content and new accounts being created for spam. I read that there have been many attempts to contact the admin team but no response for a few years!

To stop sharing your posts to Bluesky:

1. Find the user [at]bsky.brid.gy[at]bsky.brid.gy (Type the user in the search box and click the Profiles matching… button)
2. Block the user [at]bsky.brid.gy[at]bsky.brid.gy
3. Click the Preferences button on the sidebar
4. Go to Account/Authorized apps
5. Revoke access for Bridgy, if it exists.

To stop seeing posts from Bluesky:

1. Find any user whose address ends with …[at]bsky.brid.gy (You can type bsky.brid.gy in the search box and click the Profiles matching… button)
2. Click on the user name to reveal their profile page
3. Click the ••• button
4. Click Block domain bsky.brid.gy
5. Click Block server

To verify that you’ve done it, click the ••• More button on the right sidebar and click Blocked domains. You should see bsky.brid.gy there.

Liz Truss and Open AI both announcing they are going to make "social networks" this week.

Hard to imagine any reason why you'd want to use either. Truss reckons hers will be "Free Speech" but of course she can't allow illegal posts any more than Twitter can.

OpenAI presumably mostly want training data. Hard to see why anyone would deliberately choose to post their notes to be used by OpenAI without compensation.

If either try to federate, I shall of course be defederating them.
