I don't remember that "The Devil You Know" was this good. The last time I listened to it was already 7 years ago, so I guess it aged like fine wine.

This album has a very modern heavy sound which I prefer to 80s and 90s production. Yes, I am serious.

If I would rank this album in my joint #DeepPurple and #BlackSabbath list, it would be placed between Mob Rules and Purpendicular.

Here's a question to all Metalheads: does The Devil You Know belong into the Black Sabbath discography?
IMHO it has a stronger case than 7th Star.

Wrong. They release it as Heaven & Hell so technically it wouldn't qualify for this Metaljourney.

But after 4 Deep Purple albums in a row, I need a bit of the #BlackSabbath sound.

If you own the 1999 remaster version of #PerfectStrangers or if you stream it, then the instrumental 10 minute epos closes a fantastic comeback album.

No, it is not as good as In Rock or Machine Head, but it is fucking great! 4/5

#PerfectStrangers is a very 80s album but still sounds very much like Deep Purple. Just #DeepPurple in the 80s 😂

Oh, and I think Tobias Forge listened to this album a lot when he worked on #Impera with #Ghost.

There is no doubt that #MobRules is a great album. But it doesn't quite reach Heaven and Hell. 4/5

Why does Into the Void sound so familiar? Ah, Kyuss, that's why!

Overall #MasterOfReality puts me in a tricky position. Don't get me wrong, the album is a masterpiece, an easy 4.5/5.

But! Do I like it more than Black Sabbath? 🤔

Please know that I am by no means a #BlackSabbath or #DeepPurple expert. There are plenty of albums I never (conciously) listened to and shockingly #MasterOfReality is one of them.

So one of the main reasons why I am doing this journey is to fill the gaps and find gems.

And oh boy did I find one! How good is Children of the Grave?
