How sick someone has to be to look at the Alps and Pyrenees and think, "look, geology says there's got to be lots of hydrogen stored in porous rocks, let's raze down the mountains to get it, in the name of transitioning away from carbon." How sick that someone has to be.
How about stopping all fracking, for starters, worldwide, alongside all bottom trawling of the seas? Both known to release untolds amount of CO2 for little profit.

I realise things are not quite right when a fellow passenger cries she wants to be left ar the shore because the sea is too rough. Maybe the border official was right in ordering not to travel by boat. The passenger literally throws her little child to the crew at front of the boat, maybe thinking to save his life.
I'll arrive in Aitape completely drenched after 6 hours of navigation. The money inside my supposedly water-proof waist belt is so wet I have to hang it up to dry. Good thing a fellow passenger takes me to a comfortable guesthouse. I can rest.... but not for long....

New job, new film, new book...Merci Olivier Monod @libe Liberation for summarising my 2025 so far!
Indeed I accepted a job offer @ Masaryk University in Czechia. They have a programme on regional peripheries that seems perfect to continue my research on the effects of climate change & market integration on indigenous communities in Papua New Guinea (PNG) (among my other research on social cohesion).The film "The Researcher" by @produzionifuorifuoco has already been screened in 13 different countries around the world and recently won the award for "Best Educational Pathway Film" @ International Frome Climate Film Festival.
Finally, my book "A fuoco" (Zooming in) has just been published by @feltrinelli_. It’s the diary of my 28,000 km #NoFly journey from PNG to Europe to reduce my carbon footprint.
Many people ask me if losing my job was "worthwhile". These outcomes would make one feel that it was. But, honestly, I would have done the same even if no one had talked about my story and I hadn't "achieved" anything. For me, the important thing was to remain true to my "climate conscience". I couldn't have done otherwise.

Great 1.000km train travel from Brno to Milan. Truly love night trains by @unsereOEBB. No wonder trains are fully packed. With @Eurail 2 days of travel cost €100.

it is expected to produce around 10TWh every year, all of this with the same water temperature than the orther pressurised light water reactors, a nice performance and a good way to get rid of fossil fuel production.

Thanks to #China having done the investing into green tech infrastructure and logistics for manufacturing, something the US should have done and benefited from but stuck to subsidizing #carbon fuels instead, data shows that we could completely #decarbonize global electricity by 2030, five years earlier than Biden's bill called for though thanks to tariffs might take the Us longer than everyone else. This will of course leave manufacturing energy like Steel and concrete, as well as shipping and airlines. With pure carbon batteries we could electrolize manufacturing much faster than expected, After that it will require global agreements to force shipping to go full #electric and airlines have to figure out an alternative to fuel such as hydrogen. The LN2 #energy storage system is a powerful method of storing and releasing energy with new tech and will in the process also pull CO2 out of the air. Its possible we could inspite of everything thanks to China survive the worst of climate change and even start to reverse it.
