Random #Debian Astro package of the week is xplanet-images. Xplanet renders an image of a planet into an X window or a file.

In order to run xplanet, you'll need at least one map file. This package includes some map files that can be used with xplanet.

@itsfoss as the article talks about a distro for a child, I recommend a lot #debianedu .
(First of all I think 4 years old is too early to get contact with computers, even with screens in general)
My 11 years old kid has local access (no web) to tons of material about science, drawing, programming... And he is always discovering new secrets or option there.
For sure raspberry pi is a good platform for scratch, laby, colobot... Using #debian :-)

Ich hatte ein Debian stable (trixie) mit KDE aufgesetzt, mir passend erscheinende Metapakete aus dem Edu-Projekt installiert, und dann noch ein bisschen aufgeräumt und Shortcuts angelegt. Das hat mehr als gereicht.

Wie erwartet, müssen eigentlich nur der Browser und LibreOffice funktionieren.

2. Debian Edu (solide, peut-être trop austère ?)
3. Trisquel Edu (je ne connais pas)
4. Emmabuntüs DE4 (je ne connais pas non plus)
5. EdUbunutu
6. Linux Mint Xfce personnalisé (qu’on bricolerait et transformerait en ISO maison — intéressant mais chronophage)

Je compte toutes les installer et les tester avec les élèves.
Mais s’il y en a une qui fait déjà référence autant le savoir dès maintenant 🙂

🎓 Pour la rentrée 2025, je lance un projet de #reconditionnement d’ordinateurs à destination d’élèves et de familles qui n’en ont pas, pour contribuer à réduire la #FractureNumérique (avec, je l’espère, des élèves motivés pour m’aider ! ^^).

Je cherche donc :

→ Une distribution GNU/Linux libre (sans clause NC) spécifiquement dédiée à l’éducation au second degré — une sorte de PrimTux pour le collège/lycée : ça existe ?

- #iServ verwendet #OPSI, weil damit Windows Clients ... naja ... installiert werden können.

- #Linux Clients (via linux-client-agent) sind ein kostenpflichtiges OPSI-"Produkt".

- dort klappt (mit Glück) die Installation, aber keine Updates oder Konfigurationsänderungen.

- mit Pech passen Kernel, initrd, Kernelmodule und zu installierende Linuxversion nicht zusammen und es gibt eine Fehlermeldung.

- "niemand" nutzt Linux unter iServ

- deshalb findet dort auch keine nennenswerte Entwicklung statt.

- von Linux kommend würde man auch nicht unbedingt OPSI verwenden wollen, sondern eher #DebianEdu mit z.B. #FAI oder #Ansible
