I had planned to upgrade to Debian 13 “Trixie” this winter, but had wanted to get a lot of improvements done first. Like moving to ZFS.
How an ethernet port forced a premature update.

But! Compiling the `master` branch of Zig requires LLVM 21, which is not available from @Debian for #Debian13trixie, and the #apt repository at https://apt.llvm.org, which does have the package, has a dodgy signature, so the package won't install.
So either I have to move to an unstable operating system release, which I could do but doesn't thrill me, or I have to compile LLVM 21 from scratch, which seems like a major side project.
Here be dragons.

If anyone is still running #debian12 on a machine with software RAID, be advised about a problem with upgrading to #debian13 – yesterday it made my home server unbootable and I found the reason to be grub not detecting my RAID1 metadevice. A workaround is described here: https://gist.github.com/yorickdowne/3cecc7b424ce241b173510e36754af47 (thanks, Yorick!); fixing my server involved booting from USB and doing
apt install --reinstall mdadmwhile chrooted to my original root FS. -

@yogthos Woohoo! following the Jank install instructions for #Ubuntu seems to work fine for #Debian13trixie !
https://github.com/jank-lang/jank/blob/main/compiler+runtime/doc/install.md
I've installed lein-jank, but it does not seem able (yet) to start a jank repl.
Is there a how-to anywhere for porting a #leiningen project from #clojure to jank?
-
@yogthos H'mmm... this isn't working for me in either Firefox or Chromium, on #Debian13trixie (I see only a blank rectangle).
Firefox reports that it's blocking cross site scripting requests; Chromium prints a nice ASCII-art picture of a dog to the console, but reports no errors.
What are you seeing?

-
Oh! Sebebini öğrendim!
Raspberry Pi OS, Debian 13 (Trixie)'ye geçtiğinden beri

-
Bu gün ilk olarak onu denedim.
wf-recorder için terminale;
wf-recorder --audio --file=video1.mkv
-
Ah be!
Akşam bilgisayarı kapatıp yattım.
Daha yatar yatmaz fikirler kafama üşüştü!
wf-recorder'ın kendisi ile onu kullanan Botspot Screen Recorder'ın arayüzden başka farkını düşündüm.
wf-recorder ile sesli video kaydetmek için terminale;
wf-recorder --audio --file=video1.mp4
yazıyordum.
İşte farkı buydu!
Botspot Screen Recorder ile "mkv" kaydedebilmiştim!
Yoksaaaaaa?
..devamı yanıtta..

Güzel. İçine istediğiniz radyoları ismi ile aratabiliyor yada linkini ekleyebiliyormuşsunuz!
Açar açmaz bana neden Türkiye radyoları çıktı?
Pi'ye kayıtlı ülkem yüzünden mi?
-
Raspberry'de İnternet Radyom yoktu iyi oldu! ツ
-
"sudo apt install plasma-discover"
-
-
Masaüstü Fotoğrafım neden gitmiş?
Resimler klasörünü tamamen boşalttığım için gitmiş!
Çünkü masaüstü fotoğrafım oradaydı!
Her şeyi, de silmemek lazımmış! ツ

I've done an `apt update` and `fwupdmgr` update on my #debian13trixie @frameworkcomputer laptop today, and the sound quality is suddenly awful. Equally awful on all audio apps, so it's not an app issue.
What should I be looking at to fix this?
Framework have just released a BIOS patch, which is why I ran fwupdatemgr; but I don't see anything in that which should affect audio.

Raspberry Pi OS UPDATE. Debian 13 Trixie
-
Bu gün, Raspberry Pi 5'e yeni kurulum yaptığım Debian 13 "Trexie"'li Raspberry Pi OS'a Pi-Apps ile kurduğum Steam'deki hesabımdan,
Masaüstü Bilgisayarıma kurulu LMDE6 Faye'de yüklü Steam'deki hesabıma bağlanıp, masaüstü bilgisayarıma yüklü "Tomb Rider" oyununu oynadım.
Raspberry Pi 5'ten XBox Oyun kolu ile Masaüstü bilgisayarımdaki oyunu yönetip Raspberrypi monitöründe izleyerek oynamak güzeldi.
Raspberry'ye oyunu yüklemeden oynayabilmek hârika!
-
-
Flash Disk'te sorun yok, ama artık bunu açmıyor!
Herhâlde düzeltirler!
Biraz PSP oyunu oynayayım dedim, olana bak!
-
Eyvahlar olsun!
Debian 13 (Trixie)'li Raspberry Pi OS'a USB'den harici disk taktım açmıyor!

Debian 13 “trixie” release brings RISC-V support plus to the popular GNU/Linux distro, plus thousands of other updates
Debian is a free and open source, Linux-based operating system that’s bee around for more than three decades. And computers have changed a lot in that time. So while Debian has a reputation for releasing updates on a slow, steady, and stable basis rather than pushing bleeding edge features, the operating system has made some major changes over the years.
This weekend the Debian team […]

Debian officially takes out i686 disk images!
Debian 13 “Trixie” has just been released today to bring many improvements and new versions of packages, such as GNOME 48, KDE Plasma 6.3, and Linux 6.15 LTS. As we have speculated earlier back last year that the i686 support was declining, further evidenced by Debian taking out the i686 kernels, our speculations made last October were made right.
Debian has joined the majority of the distros that no longer provided the i686 architecture support for kernel and for installation disks. Starting from Debian 13 “Trixie”, you can no longer use the Debian installer disks made for the i686 processors. Anyone who still uses the i686 version of Debian 12 “Bookworm” won’t be able to upgrade to Trixie.
If you’re looking into upgrading to Trixie, consider one of the following options:
- If your computer’s processor supports the 64-bit instructions (the oldest processors that support them are AMD Athlon 64 and Intel Pentium 4 Prescott, Cedar Mill, or higher), you’ll need to back up your crucial data and re-install Debian with the 64-bit installers.
- If your computer’s processor only supports 32-bit (older Intel Pentium 4, Pentium 3 or older, and AMD Athlon XP or older), you have one of the two options.
- Stay on Debian 12 “Bookworm”
- Find another Linux distribution that supports 32-bit, such as Arch Linux 32

I don't know when I installed the Terminator terminal emulator on #LinuxMintDebianEdition, but it was awhile ago. I was intrigued by its ability to run multiple terminals simultaneously, and while I could figure out how to split my window with new terminals, I couldn't figure out how it would be useful.
This week I decided to investigate that. I learned that the user can define a "layout" with a window configuration, even programs set to launch in each window.
It wasn't exactly intuitive at first -- no, it was downright counter-intuitive -- but I got the hang of it and created a couple of layouts, one for music (shown), one for system tools, one for productivity apps (like Emacs and Alpine).
I added shortcuts to these layouts to my #CTWM menu, so if I want to launch a "package" of programs I can.
And, on semi-related note, Happy Release Day for #Debian13 to all those who celebrate! I'm looking forward to getting there myself in about two months, when LMDE upgrades its #Debian base to #debian13trixie. Patience, young padawan. #DebianDay
