Best case scenario is he finds it depressing with zero interest in visiting another concentration camp, because it's a #DebbieDowner on a trip to Europe.

"Tariffs are gonna hit food prices so I'm going to buy local I guess" is a sentiment I've seen a few times here on the fedi.

I have bad news: local farmers have tractors, combines, computers, pumps, and all sorts of machinery. That machinery needs parts, or sometimes they need replacing outright. The prices on those *will* go up. Buying local won't save you because the farmers have to pay the imports either directly or indirectly, and those costs will be passed on.

It's kind of laughable that no one in tech seems to be seriously considering that parallel development of deepfake a/v, LLM, agile robots, autonomous drones/cars and weapon systems will inevitably be merged into something worse than Skynet.
