I did offer to do an online one a while ago but turned out the few people who'd expressed interest decided no.
It is still an option.

About to get ready to go out to host the death cafe. I'm not expecting anyone so close the Christmas but I'm committed.
This will be the only time I'm glad the central library isn't central. There are no shops nearby and few parking places, so no frantic shoppers.

¡¡Death Café Literario en Málaga!!

Se trata de organizar una lectura conjunta de mi novela gótica sobre lo que hay tras la muerte: La Cantina.
La idea es comenzar la lectura a comienzos de Octubre, y luego reunirnos el 25/10/2025 –incluidos autor e ilustrador de la novela– en un Death Café para hablar sobre el libro y de aquello relacionado con la muerte que nos apetezca. Habrá regalos y sorteos 😉.

Spent an hour this morning updating the links for resources for the bereaved, mental health, etc.
Disappointed that several I used last year have closed after their funding stopped.

The Death Cafe(tm) went OK, six of us which was three more than I expected!

The library supplied tea, coffee, milk, sugar and hot water. But no cups or spoons. Luckily I'd packed some of everything as I didn't know what to expect.

Since I got home I've been trying to add compostable cups to my next grocery order but their site is down.
Must remember cups!

Just found out at 17.59 that the project I thought was at best on hold at worse cancelled is back on.
Can I run the first session on Saturday - with no time for any publicity and I can't even talk to them about posters until 9am tomorrow.

Because of the delay in getting a new venue for our Death Cafe I'm going ahead with the online one first.
A Death Cafe for neurodivergent people who live in Rotherham and are more comfortable with online meetings.
Dates to be agreed but hoping to start in Feb.
Dates will be advertised on the Death Cafe site but the link will be restricted.

I was hosting a (non-faith) Death Cafe, supported by my local faith group.
We lost the free venue as they decided we shouldn't talk about DEATH.
I asked the local council if they had a space, and they offered the library.
I just got a new poster from them with our details removed. So I must now work for the local council as it is their name on the poster!
But are we still paying for the refreshments, it was part of the original deal and they haven't offered.

Kann mir jemand erklären was es sich mit diesen relays im #fediverse auf sich hat? Ich habe das noch nicht verstanden. Es gibt da nämlich einen #hashtag ( #deathcafe ,mehr darüber unter deathcafe.com) von dem ich nicht alle Einträge finde, die es gibt.

Just met up to make arrangements to re-start our Death Cafe after we were booted out of the last venue (they did not ask us what a death cafe is, just thought it sounded bad).
New venue is owned by the local council who are supportive.

Now I've been here a while - doing another #introduction toot.. keep forgetting we can use lots of characters here! Currently running a community project in #YorkshireDales with a focus on #FoodWaste #CommunityFridge #Allotment #ReducingIsolation A big part of what we do is a twice weekly #PublicLivingRoom based on the idea from #Camerados. Worked for many years in analytical #chemistry #geochemistry research before retraining as a #homeopath and working a lot with #MentalHealth #Trauma .. sadly this has been really useful for doing community work. Other interests include #walking #gardening #permaculture #DeathCafe #cooking #crafting especially #patchwork #travel #festivals #reading and me and husband would love to have #goats but unlikely to happen! So will just have to manage with frequent searching of #GoatsOfMastodon hashtag. Since about 2015 been really influenced by the work of #OttoScharmer #ULab and the #ImpactHub model and especially the concept of #prototyping. Was recently described by a friend as 'a bit of a #lefty who gets shit done' and think that actually sums me up perfectly.
