What can I say?

I remember some time in the naughts downloading a grainy VHS transfer of the movie. And then a few yrs later going to the theater for Meetup at the Movies and finally seeing an official release in all of its glory. Next day this was up for pre-order and I just knew.

I still have not been able to find Nancy's Yogurt here in New England!

Dark Star from the Legendary Europe 72 Tour

I cant say I have a favorite Dark Star but this one would be in close contention and this release is what turned me on tomorrow it.

If you have checked out my pinned post, the first segment of this version is the opening segment of the 54 hour Majestic Star. I only selected the first and last segments, the others were randomized.

Sorry for the glare! The final of the MFSL 2LP 45rpm releases. One of my very favorite albums. I am hoping that this pressing lives up to the hype when I finally crack it open.

What other albums would you like to see MFSL release in 45rpm? For me, I think Wake Of The Flood would be my choice.

MFSL had a big controversy recently, when it came to light that most of their output is sourced from digital transfers of the master tapes versus being an all analog path.

I enjoy the tangible experience of vinyl. I don't know if my ears and gear are good enough to tell the difference in source. What do y'all think.

The only Dicks vinyl in my collection. I always debate myself whether I really need these. I walked away from a $75 new Dick 4 a few years ago. Ordered Dick 36 & was canceled. I would love to have the Harpur College show, but a day late when it came out & is stupid money now. C'est la vie!

The back cover of this is quite beautiful. Didn't notice it before.

Actually, there are a fair amount of heads that prefer this night. Both have their moments, but not sure I have a preference. My favorite 1977 shows are 05/19 and 09/03, which I had on cassette & both of which became Dicks Picks.

This was a RSD release. The 05/07 Boston show will be released RSD 2023.

A reissue of the original 1969 mix of Aoxomoxoa, which is significantly different than the more common 1971 remix. This mix was very difficult to find on vinyl and commanded a very high price. So it was nice to see the original mix get a very high quality pressing.

I wish I had saved hype stickers back then. The Acoustic Dead and the Electric Dead. So cool!

Seven in singles in the USA during the 70s often only came in a paper company sleeve, so most of the Dead's singles only had picture sleeves if they were released in other countries, usually Europe or Japan. This is an exception and the track did get regular rotation on my local FM rock stations. Gotta love the fake wood panel design.

3LP boot of the infamous nye78 show & another Johnny’s purchase. w/ this show becoming official rel w/pristine audio its easy to take for granted. At a time when I was just getting on the bus, a revelation!

1st set Scarlet (not labeled) is included w/ Fire edited out. But it was that 2nd set w/ the Miracle->Terrapin & that monster guest filled Not Fade Away jam!

This album was one of my earliest and the album where I really started to get *it*. Loved the new originals esp Jack Straw & Ramble On Rose. Then there is the China->Rider, Sugar Mags, and then that last lp, with the jam out of Truckin' and then the spacy improv into that amazing Morning Dew.

Beach Boys Meet The Greatful Dead

One of the best bootleg front covers ever! The #BeachBoys were my first real musical love as a kid, so this was a must buy when I came across it at Johnny’s Records in Darien CT.

This recording is from the same April 1971 run of Fillmore East shows as Skull and Roses. One of the the more oddball guest appearances, but a fun listen.

These 66 recordings are probably the earliest Dead I have on vinyl. I bought this used sometime in the mid-80s. It was already pretty rare by then. I purchased from Plastic Fantastic in Bryn Mawr PA. They always seemed to have copies of the two Sunflower releases in the racks, albeit at fairly high prices for the time.
