I finally bit the bullet and watched this last night, and... I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. I wonder if a lot of the reviews are from people who expected a gritty DC movie and even though they knew it was a musical, still resented it for being a musical. Personally I can't stand the genre, but this isn't exactly a big lavish showtunes type of film. It's still not a classic by any means, but largely underrated imo

[EN] OK, so the first “Blue Beetle” trailer is out. There are parts I loved about it, but, at times, I was a bit thrown off by its cartoonishness (is that a word?). Especially during the transformation scene, where the reactions of Jaime’s family are a little overblown for my taste. That being said, I’m excited to see “Blue Beetle” on the big screen and I can’t wait for the release!
