I'm hacking on the #DEFCON34 #baochip badge to extend secrets management capabilities (I've largely dispensed with the #dc34 light code and am building from the ground up). Code is largely a #RustLang CLI. There's also the beginning of a #Firefox and #Chrome extension that interacts with the badge for managing passwords, TOTP, and passkeys.
https://gitlab.com/friendowment/bao/
Hardware-backed secrets manager Usage: bao [OPTIONS] <COMMAND> Commands: ping Check that the device is reachable set Store a password or TOTP seed get Retrieve a secret to the clipboard (or --stdout) ls List everything stored for each login history Show when this login's password was last rotated rm Delete a field, or the whole record passkeys List FIDO passkeys on their own set-time Push the current wall-clock time init Create the encrypted store and choose its passphrase unlock Open the store wipe Erase every secret on the badge lock Close the store status Report whether the store is set up and open seal Seal stdin under a named key and write the blob to stdout open Open a sealed blob from stdin and write its contents to stdout key Keys, and the labels they are named by import Bulk-enroll `otpauth://` URIs from stdin help Print this message or the help of the given subcommand(s) Options: --addr <ADDR> Use the hosted dev fixture instead of the badge Or set BAO_FIXTURE_ADDR. The fixture stores secrets in PLAINTEXT and is for development only. --emu <ADDR> Use a badge running under the emulator instead of real hardware Or set BAO_EMU_ADDR. Started by `./x emu`. Unlike --addr this is a real badge image speaking CTAPHID; only the cable is simulated. -h, --help Print help (see a summary with '-h') -V, --version Print version -

The one critical error I made for #DC34 was listening to everyone who told me not to bring a laptop. I'm a fairly analog guy when it comes to notes, but I had no idea that every other activity would be a CTF that required me to pull down files from someones local server and follow along, I'm not against it, it just didn't match my expectation. So what'd I bring instead? I have a BT Keyboard and a USBC monitor. (But iaintshootinmis I hear you cry, that's a laptop! 1/2

Best #hack of #DC34, the hotel decided that @xrichless and I definitely wouldn't have any necessity to speak to each other or see each other.
We're excited to announce our latest #LLM and #AI assisted project, #LampyMcLamperson fully #openhardware for being able to talk face to face. Talk Sunday night on the 18th floor of the Paris Hotel
Full code on github, cross platform!

Silent disco at DEF CON scale... spoiler: it doesn't work, sounds worse than the FM audio in your car. Lots of weird spikes that hurt in your ears, every few seconds, along with hiccups where it goes silent for a full sentence. #dc34

🚨🏴☠️ We are REALLY excited about this one! MHV has partnered with National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. and Hirschbach to bring a CLASS 8 SEMI TRUCK to DEF CON 34!
You might ask - why a truck at MHV? Well, of the ~90% of goods which arrive by container ship, roughly ~60% of those are loaded on and delivered by heavy trucks.
We can't wait for you to hack it! See you all next week!
