This week's #GrindayFriday is new EP 'Buried Half Dead' by Dayton, Ohio's DEAD FILTH. Super gross song titles here, as you'd expect with goregrind. There's an upcoming #Netflix doc abt murderous #vampires in #DaytonOhio in the '90s. "Vampires of Gem City" claims #DaytonOH is home to the 2nd largest #VampireCoven in the U.S., outside N'awlins.
A defunct #goth club–Asylum–was allegedly vamp HQ. I went a few times…cool club; not my jam. I've friends who were regs & now have Sanctuary parties in a similar "vein." I know the investigator—sold him occult books.

His journey began with strip-clubs here in Dayton. "The Hustler" was a newsletter for his clubs–a fact usually ignored in local PR.
Of the big 3 men's mags, his is the only one still in print.

In the '70s, Dad humbly advertised occasional offerings in Rocket's Blast ComiCollector (RBCC); a fanzine of renown that ran from the '60s to the '80s. This photo is one of those nearly 50 year old listings. It's an interesting look back at comic collecting before the Internet. Naturally, the listing is no longer valid.

Today is the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, when WWII Allied forces took back the beaches of Normandy. This shop was 5 years old.
In a few weeks, France will again be focal as World athletes complete in the XXXIII Olympics. The store is 85 years old.

New to our Biographies... In '72 Hughes' Corp. built the Glomar Explorer mining/salvage vessel. To build it, a giant crane barge was made by Sun Shipbuilding. It was all a CIA cover, to recover a wrecked Soviet sub. That crane, the Chesapeake 1000, still works today at the MV Dali-shipwrecked Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore, MD.
