Day 7's drawer contained a bit of Glenfiddich's 18 year old expression at 40% ABV, which I've had before.
Apples, pears, and some funky oak on the nose; sherry notes of dried fruit and orange peel on the palate; with a warm finish where the oak comes back out again.
I am again busy with other projects tonight, thus the quick shot from above the tasting glass.

CW: Advent of Code 2025 day 7 solution
Typical "don't even try brute-forcing it" part 2. I kept track of the timeline count as I worked my way vertically down the graph, and then added up the beams' shared timelines at the end. I also considered that dynamic programming with a recursive solution would probably have worked fine as well, but went for the approach that most matched the way I was already doing it.
I'll probably follow up with the dynamic programming approach, just for fun.

pretty straightforward, but I hit a weird issue: I cannot use a loca variable for a row of my grid while iterating, otherwise it complains I'm mixing mutable and immutable borrowings.
And yet, using an index directly makes the compiler happy? Why?
