I only saw #PereUbu once when they performed the live soundtrack for the X: The Man With X-Ray Eyes at Mass MoCA several years ago. They were outstanding. I'll quote my 20-year-old DW review in the replies.

RIP David Thomas, le roi est mort. “The things I say seem to hit the air and fall apart.” So many good albums across the decades - while I’m posting a link to a favourite song off the first album, I recommend going and trying the ones around St Arkansas, for instance, which have lots of feelings around being on the road, but probably not in the way you’re imagining.
