Dados oficiais divulgados pela Netflix confirmam que a 5ª e última temporada de “Stranger Things” entrou oficialmente para a lista das produções em língua inglesa mais assistidas de todos os tempos da plataforma, alcançando até o momento 105,7 milhões de visualizações, número que ainda deve crescer nos próximos meses.
O marco foi atingido logo após a disponibilização do episódio final, lançado na véspera de Ano-Novo. Com isso, a temporada tornou-se elegível para o ranking histórico da Netflix, que contabiliza as visualizações registradas nos primeiros 91 dias de exibição de cada título. No caso de lançamentos divididos em volumes, como ocorreu com Stranger Things 5, cada parte tem sua própria janela de contagem.
O Volume 1, lançado em 26 de novembro, seguirá somando visualizações até 24 de fevereiro. Já o Volume 2, disponibilizado em 25 de dezembro, terá seus números computados até 25 de março, enquanto o episódio final — “Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up”, com cerca de duas horas de duração — continuará sendo contabilizado até 31 de março. Isso significa que a temporada ainda tem quase três meses para subir no ranking definitivo, cuja posição final só será conhecida no início de abril de 2026.
Atualmente, a 5ª temporada de “Stranger Things” ocupa a 9ª posição entre as séries em inglês mais populares da história da Netflix, já tendo superado títulos como “O Agente Noturno” e “Fool Me Once”. O desempenho inicial reforça o potencial de crescimento: a temporada final registrou a maior estreia da história da Netflix para uma série em inglês, com 59,6 milhões de visualizações logo na abertura. Caso mantenha o ritmo, não está descartada a possibilidade de alcançar o 1º lugar, hoje ocupado pela 1ª temporada de “Wandinha”, com 252,1 milhões de visualizações. A 4ª temporada de “Stranger Things”, lançada em 2022, permanece em 3º lugar, com 140,7 milhões.
Além do impacto no ranking histórico, o lançamento do episódio final provocou um efeito imediato na audiência da plataforma. A Netflix confirmou que a série impulsionou o maior número de visualizações já registrado em um Dia de Ano-Novo, estabelecendo também recordes no período natalino. Na semana de 29 de dezembro a 4 de janeiro, Stranger Things foi o título mais assistido do serviço, somando 31,5 milhões de visualizações — mesmo com parte do público tendo assistido ao episódio final em sessões especiais nos cinemas, que arrecadaram mais de US$ 25 milhões.
O sucesso também reverberou no catálogo. Pela sexta semana consecutiva, todas as temporadas anteriores da série voltaram ao Top 10 semanal da Netflix: a 1ª temporada ficou em 3º lugar (7,6 milhões), a 2ª em 5º (5,5 milhões), a 3ª em 7º (5 milhões) e a 4ª em 8º (4,8 milhões). O fenômeno reforça o impacto cultural contínuo da produção, mesmo após quase uma década desde sua estreia.
Na trama da temporada final, ambientada no outono de 1987, Hawkins enfrenta as consequências da abertura das Fendas. Enquanto a cidade permanece sob quarentena militar, o grupo de amigos tenta localizar e derrotar Vecna, que desapareceu sem deixar pistas. Eleven volta a se esconder das autoridades, e a proximidade do aniversário do desaparecimento de Will intensifica a sensação de que algo ainda mais sombrio está prestes a acontecer.
