Our vision is to create a self-sustaining community of Data Stewards,with a key goal of supporting the development of their skills and career paths at an institutional level, primarily for organisations and disciplines where data stewardship is not well catered for e.g. by well-resourced centralised disciplinary data facilities.

#DataStewards spielen eine wichtige Rolle im #Forschungsdatenmanagement (FDM), da sie u. a. Ansprechpersonen für Forschende und Studierende agieren und zur Verwaltung und Nutzung von Forschungsdaten beraten.
Am 10. Great initiative about research data management #RDM in Germany presented at #CoRDI2023. Reminds me of the #UGent #datastewards, but of course much larger: instead of one data steward per faculty, one steward (organisation) for each federal state (yes that's partial Germany on the map , more German states will join)

According to Gowri Gopalakrishna we need more discussion between the different scientific disciplines in the update of #OpenScience.
The push for #DataStewards is a positive development. Researchers can go to these stewards to learn about responsible data management and how to share their data according to the #FAIR principles.
(Now @antonioschettino is asking difficult questions about survey response rates and how to reach those that we actually need to reach 😂)

I like it. I really like it. I am pretty sure I would like to do it as a job.
But I have no idea how to "formally" prepare for it. Are there any data stewards in the academic setting that would like to chat?
